We have an extensive portfolio of case studies that reflects our knowledge and capabilities on Operations, on Track and on Train across the global rail industry.

Accurate up-to-date information on track geometry is critical to maintaining the UK's high speed rail network. It enables rapid intervention to remedy developing faults and provides valuable information on deteriorating infrastructure, allowing engineers to prioritise and plan maintenance work.
In June 2003, Network Rail introduced the 125mph New Measurement Train (NMT) onto their network. The NMT provides data on the condition of the track, overhead power lines and signals. Every two weeks, it covers every one of the UK's high–speed routes, gathering data with advanced monitoring systems including scanners, lasers and video cameras.
Network Rail commissioned DeltaRail to develop the track recording car for the NMT. Our approach was to transform a standard passenger coach into a state-of-the-art track recording vehicle. This involved extensive vehicle modifications as well as fitting track and overhead condition monitoring and recording equipment. The track recording technology was based on DeltaRail's Trackline system, complimented by a highly sophisticated instrumented pantograph.
Now in operation for over three years, The New Measurement Train continues to provide reliable accurate data to optimise performance on the UK's high speed rail network.
The NMT scooped the prize for Innovation in Engineering at the prestigious Railway Forum/Modern Railways Innovation Awards, in recognition of the engineering challenges overcome and the substantial benefits to the UK rail network.
