TracklineTwo

The Product

DeltaRail's TracklineTwo offers high quality track recording equipment that integrates with decision support software to provide a cost effective, unattended geometry measurement system, ideal for in-service applications.  Traditionally, this data has been obtained by bespoke track recording cars or local manual track surveys.

With TracklineTwo, DeltaRail has used considerable experience in developing track recording technology, to produce a solution that is compact and simple to install.  The powerful data processing and storage system is designed to fit in a luggage rack space or under seating, making it ideally suited to metro and light rail systems.  Key features include: minimal maintenance requirements; in-service operation over a wide range of operating conditions and speeds; rapid commissioning and acceptance; and automatic defect warning.

The information provided by TracklineTwo can be imported into existing office based asset management systems or fed directly into DeltaRail's TrackMaster maintenance planning software for day-to-day analysis, strategic maintenance and planning.  The system also interfaces with DeltaRail's Vampire software offering useful modelling possibilities.

The Benefits

The ability to accurately measure and monitor track quality against given standards enables maintenance work to be prioritised on a proactive basis.  This drives down the cost of maintenance activities while increasing the effectiveness and longevity of the work undertaken.

TracklineTwo offers substantial risk reduction plus cost savings of up to £5 million over the lifecycle when compared to a dedicated recording car.  Automatic inspection reduces staff costs whilst the design of TracklineTwo requires no changes to train structure and no reduction in seating capacity or associated loss of revenue.

Key features include:

  • A fully automated in-service vehicle that offers considerable cost advantages over a dedicated recording vehicle.
  • Fewer penalties due to enforced speed restrictions or route availability: post processing data with VAMPIRE Pro can help determine the safe maximum operating speed while in-service measurement doesn't disrupt route availability.
  • A proactive maintenance strategy that reduces maintenance costs and provides greater management control.
