DeltaRail to Supply IECC Scalable® at Ely to Norwich
DeltaRail's IECC Scalable® signalling control system will be located at Network Rail’s Cambridge box as part of the Modular Signalling GRIP 5-8 Ely – Thetford – Norwich (ETN) pilot project awarded by Network Rail to Signalling Solutions. The project will introduce SSL’s Modular Signalling solution “integr8” into the network for the first time.
IECC Scalable® retains the original IECC functionality and level of automation, and is very flexible in terms of the area that it can control, allowing signallers to control larger areas at less busy periods.
This important development puts the proven functionality of the existing system onto a new software architecture to deliver additional benefits:
- Reduced hardware cost and equipment room space requirements.
- Re-configurable workstations to allow manning to be matched to traffic levels.
- Workstations and signalling interfaces can be located remotely using open communications.
- Interfaces to ERTMS/ETCS and strategic traffic management tools.
- Delivers forward compatibility for European Train Control.
The final commissioning at Ely-Norwich will be held over two 27 hour weekend possessions in July 2012.
