EuroMaint and DeltaRail Extend their Alliance to Provide World Class Maintenance Services
EuroMaint AB, Swedish rolling stock maintenance specialists and DeltaRail, the leading UK rail consultancy, have signed an agreement to provide the Nordic transportation industry with world-class maintenance services.
This agreement is the next step following last year's announcement of a collaboration between the two companies. It will enable the two companies to combine EuroMaint's market-leading train maintenance services with DeltaRail's advanced asset maintenance product range and extensive technical expertise.
Since the original announcement in October 2005, the two companies have been working closely together to identify and exploit commercial opportunities. Both companies have been collaborating on a number of bids and pilot projects.
The collaboration began with the installation of DeltaRail's performance monitoring product, VIEW™, at Hagalund Depot in Stockholm. This pilot scheme was delivered in record time to enable a full scale trial under Swedish winter conditions.
VIEW™ is a depot based, track-side system which measures a number of different components, including brake pads, wheel profiles and third rail pick up shoes, for wear and reliability. It analyses these measurements and automatically produces statistical and auditable reports, as well as predicting the remaining life of those components.
VIEW™ has performed reliably through one of the worst Swedish winters in 20 years and the trial has resulted in some subtle innovations to further improve winter performance.
Building on the success of the pilot installation, EuroMaint moved decisively to roll out the VIEW™ technology across its operations, purchasing a licence for the VIEW™ software. A second system is planned for installation at Bro depot for a prestigious new contract providing commuter services in the Stockholm region.
In addition EuroMaint is using DeltaRail's proven methodology and extensive expertise on a number of their existing contracts.
