TracklineTwo™

Unattended Track Recording System

Introduction

TracklineTwo™ is a powerful track geometry and rail head wear recording system that is compact enough to be fitted to a wide range of rolling stock, including metro vehicles where available space can be at a premium.  The ability to accurately measure and monitor track quality is a key requirement for companies responsible for the maintenance of track and infrastructure.  Traditionally, this requirement has been met by bespoke track recording cars or local manual track surveys.  A potentially more effective solution is to use in-service track recording equipment.

DeltaRail's latest system, TracklineTwo™, is a comprehensive, compact and cost effective track recording system that is suitable for most vehicles including for in-service applications.

Key Features

The system consists of two bogie-mounted pods that use advanced camera and laser technology, in conjunction with inertial sensors, to measure:

  • Vertical and lateral track alignment.
  • Track gauge and cross level.
  • Twist, cant deficiency and cyclic top.
  • Rail head and side wear.

The pods are connected to an on-board computer.  The system is designed to operate in a full range of weather conditions and the measurement pods are robust.

Benefits

  • Potential problems can be identified before they become serious enough to disrupt service or in the worst cases, result in a derailment.
  • Track condition and deterioration rates can be closely monitored, enabling maintenance tasks to be better planned and prioritised.
  • The quality and longevity of track maintenance activities undertaken can be assessed and monitored.
