SSI Design Workstation® Software

SSI Design Workstation® Software

Introduction

Solid State Interlocking (SSI) is configured to a particular application by combining standard programs with geographical data.  This data is produced and compiled using a suite of programs known as the SSI Design Workstation® (DWS).

Key Features

The DWS enables users to complete a wide range of functions including the ability to:

  • Create and copy schemes and interlockings.
  • Edit and delete existing schemes and interlockings.
  • Compile and test geographic data.
  • Decompile interlocking geographic data.
  • Archive data to and retrieve data from floppy disk.
  • Produce SSI data and program EPROMs.
  • Download and interface facility for testing data on a Simulation Rack.
  • Screen editor for signalling layouts using an Interface Processor.

The software suite operates on a PC/Linux platform.  It therefore operates on widely available hardware.  DeltaRail can supply the PC-based DWS as a complete data preparation package.  Each system is fully configured and tested before despatch and supplied with the DWS user guide and configuration guide.

DeltaRail also offers support packages for the DWS.  This includes access to a first-line help desk, hardware warranty, operating system support, database support, application support and software maintenance releases.

Benefits

  • Significantly higher processing speed than the previous generation of DWS.
  • The PC based DWS has been successful in achieving stringent Network Rail Product acceptance
  • Transferring existing data and media to the new system results in a significant increased processing speed.  It is possible to replace older DWS installations without upgrading SSI hardware devices.
